How long has it been that good white people have been afraid to call evil people evil if the evil people aren't white? Hell, we're even afraid to call evil white people evil! If the actions of a group of people are the actions of an enemy, then they are our enemies! And if we don't start saying it loud and clear so people who agree with us know whose side we're on, our enemy is going to cut us down one by one! Using the enemy's methods, such as trying to obtain power over the lives of others, even if it's to fight the enemy, puts us on the same side as the enemy.
