Forgiving and forgetting can be dangerous and very stupid!

Part of the indoctrination that is a staple of Caucasian Americans' upbringing is that we are obligated to look for a way to "forgive" crimes committed against us by anyone who isn't a Caucasian, even if forgiving them gives them the opportunity to commit more crimes against us. "Charlie Brown, you blockhead," from Lucy Van Pelt, after snatching the football away from Charlie Brown for the umpteenth time.
